About me and my therapy practice

I work in English and Polish, offering sessions online across the UK and beyond, and in person in Chesterfield (S40).

You might feel that life is happening to you, rather than you having much say in it.

Like you’re stuck on autopilot — worn down, unfulfilled, running out of energy.

You might be getting through the days.

Doing what needs to be done.

Holding things together.

Often there is a quiet sense of loneliness underneath it all

feeling numb, irritable, or not good enough, even though, from the outside, everything looks managed and under control.

Inside, it can feel exhausting:

• tension that doesn’t really leave

• racing thoughts

• rest that feels shallow or hard to reach

Over time, this can start to affect relationships, family life, parenting, work, and the way you feel about yourself and others.

If any of this feels familiar, I want to say this clearly:

there is nothing wrong with you.

Many people I work with are used to managing on their own — being the responsible one, the one who copes.

This is why reaching out for help can feel so hard.

If you are here, I want you to know that I see the courage it takes to begin.

I work with experiences such as anxiety, hyperarousal, low mood, burnout, emotional overwhelm or numbness, self-criticism, shame, people-pleasing, and trauma-related symptoms.

Therapy offers a confidential space where we slow things down and notice, gently and without judgement, the parts of you that learned to perform or to stay small or perfect to belong.

My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you see what’s happening more clearly.

As the author, L. Delia, writes, “the right people hear you differently.” Finding the right therapist matters.

Being truly met — without having to explain, justify, or perform — can be deeply relieving in itself.

In this work, I stay with you in what feels difficult — without rushing - so that, over time, it can begin to make more sense and feel more bearable.

You don’t need to know where this work will take you to begin.

Practice description

I often work with people who:

live with ongoing stress, anxiety, or tension — sometimes knowing what led them here, and sometimes feeling it mainly in their body or daily life

feel stuck in old patterns

are hard on themselves, try to do things “right,” and carry a quiet sense of not-enough

struggle in relationships — not because they don’t care, but because they care deeply

overthink, over-adapt, or take responsibility for other people’s feelings

find it difficult to rest, feel constantly alert, numb, irritable, or overwhelmed

have been shaped by migration, and by the losses, longing, and questions of identity and belonging that often come with it — where strength and self-reliance became necessary, and asking for help did not always feel safe

How I work

Many people come to therapy with an old-fashioned image: lying on a couch, being analysed, talking endlessly about the past.

That is not what working with me looks like.

I offer counselling for people who have spent much of their lives holding themselves together — managing, coping, taking responsibility — and who are quietly exhausted from carrying things on their own.

What makes my work different:

• I do not push you towards insight, change, or solutions

• I work steadily with what is happening now, and in what feels hard to say or easy to minimise

• I pay close attention to the parts of you that stay in control, keep things going, or say “it’s fine”, with respect and care

• I do not lead sessions towards a pre-set goal. There's no pressure to improve, perform, or “make progress”

My background

I am a qualified integrative counsellor (MBACP), and I work with adults and young people.

I spent many years supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and adults living with life-limiting and terminal illnesses.

That experience shapes how I stay with what is difficult, without rushing, fixing, or turning away.

In my work with you, I prioritise trust, collaboration, and respect for your pace.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step.

Many people come without a clear sense of what they’re looking for, what to say, or whether therapy is the right step.

Before committing to anything, I offer a free 30-minute introductory call.

This is a chance to speak to another person, ask questions, and notice how it feels to be heard.

You don’t need to prepare

You don’t need to know where to start

You don’t need to share anything you’re not ready to share

If you choose to continue, the first session is a gentle starting point.

We begin with what feels most important right now.

I may ask some questions to help us understand what matters and how we might work together in a way that feels respectful, steady, and manageable.

There is no pressure to commit.

And if at any point it doesn’t feel like the right fit, that conversation is welcome too.

Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £60.

Sessions are simple, steady conversations, held in confidence.

We talk at a pace that allows things to settle, without pressure to explain, analyse, or reach conclusions.

You do not need to know what to say.

You can arrive tired, confused, or unsure.

We begin there.

This work is for people who have been managing for a long time and are starting to wonder what it might be like not to carry everything alone.

What this work can support

Over time, this work may help you:

• notice stress earlier and respond before it builds up

• create more space between feeling and reacting

• recognise what is yours to carry — and what isn’t

• relate to yourself with less criticism and more steadiness

• make choices that meet your needs

My role is not to give answers or tell you what to do,

but to help you see yourself more clearly —

so you can decide, step by step, what feels right for you now,

and what you might want to do next.

Change tends to happen gradually —

through understanding, safety, and time, rather than effort or pressure.

Therapy doesn’t begin when things fall apart — but when managing on your own no longer feels sustainable
